Your Captain

He has spent years conducting interpretive eco-tours and fishing charters around Charleston, received his Masters in Biology from The Citadel, taught Marine Biology at Goose Creek High, monitored soil and water for contamination as an environmental consultant, worked for the Department of Natural Resources as a Fisheries Biologist and host of the "SC Wildlife" television show. He also achieved national acclaim by winning a national competition on ESPN, "The Search for the Ultimate Outdoorsman". He designed, created, and managed the Kiawah Charter Company starting in 2004, to service guests of the Sanctuary Resort, employing several local captains.

He was featured in Guy Harvey's Premiere edition of his conservation magazine for his work with the Kiawah River Dolphins and filmed with National Geographic for the “Secret Life of Predators” highlighting the unique feeding behaviors of the Kiawah Dolphins. He served as the Preservation Committee Chairman for the Johns Island Community Association, Co-Founded the Johns Island Conservancy, and serves as the Executive Director for the Lowcountry Dolphin Alliance, a non-profit he founded to spread education and awareness of the unique behaviors of Lowcountry Dolphins.

Through all of his accomplishments, Captain Chad has retained a love for the outdoors that is second to none. He is passionate about sharing his wealth of knowledge with his guests, not only to increase their knowledge and understanding of the areas ecosystems, but to increase their respect for the area as well. His years of experience, and knowledge of local history, ecology, dolphin behavior, bird species, and fishing techniques will ensure you and your guests have a great time.
